Former Starbucks CEO thinks he can save America from Trump

Howard Schultz, billionaire and former CEO of Starbucks, announced this week that he is “seriously considering running for president as a centrist independent.”

Schultz, a longtime critic of President Trump and self-described “lifelong Democrat,” told CBS’ 60 Minutes that he will run as an independent because, “both parties are consistently not doing what’s necessary on behalf of the American people and are engaged, every single day, in revenge politics.”

Many Democratic critics say Schultz’ possible third party run, like Ralph Nader and Jill Stein before him, could siphon votes away from a Democratic nominee and ultimately help re-elect Donald Trump. To this, Schultz says, “I wanna see the American people win. I wanna see America win.”

Schultz’ announcement has spawned a wealth of Starbucks puns on Twitter urging the former CEO not to do it.

President Trump’s reaction?
